Professional photographers take pride in their ability to use photoshop, if you go on a shoot it's almost certain the photos will be editted on photoshop, so they tend not to explain their photoshop techniques, so that they can keep it to themselves.  That's not a bad thing, most photographers have a niche in the market and it wouldn't be a niche if they shared it, right? But there is no harm in learning the basics, and if that is what you want to know, stick around.
