Flowers

I got my very first camera in the summer of 2010. It was a Lumix Panasonic FZ38. I loved and would recommend it highly to any beginner photographers like myself.  When I started photogaphy A-level, I realised it was something I could consider as a career. So at the start of this year, 2012 I purchased the Nikon D7000. Wow! What an incredible camera.

One of my all time favourite flower shots.

Capturing an image, like the blink of an eye.

I love Photography, and always have. I like the idea that each time I click the shutter button, I am capturing a moment in time, that will never happen again. I take photos of many subjects, whatever takes my interest, be it landscape shots, rusty gates, or a beautiful flower in the sun. If I stop and look at it, because I think it is beautiful, the likelyhood is somewhere in the world, someone else will find it beautiful too, and by taking that photo, I have helped them to experience that beauty. We take so many things for granted, but if we stop and look around, the world is a beautiful place.

I study A-level photography, aswell as art and graphics. Our theme for our Photography exam is Decay. Who would have thought you could get beautfiul images for that theme?

Even the thing being 'destroyed' can make a stunning photo.

"you never know who's looking" 31/3/2012

It was recently suggested to me at  careers day at school, that I should start up a blog, posting ideas and thoughts about the industries I plan to go into in the future. Well, the people I spoke to at this careers day, were a local photographer and a local fashion designer. Fashion and photography are very much what I am interested in, and I would love to someday combine the two and become a fashion photographer. But, as I was saying both people recommended blogging as a starting point in my career. They said to me "You never know who's looking at you your page, somebody could see your photos or designs and be really interested". They advised me to update weekly, or even daily and just upload photos and sketches that I have done, an online portfolio, and this is what I'm doing. This blog will have links, photos and videos as well as thoughts and updates on every little thing that i find interesting and relevant.
So today the photo I am uploading is one I took in the lake district  week or two ago. I am uploading it as it is my background for my blog so I thought it was a good place to start. I like the composition, and the lighting of this photo, such a beautiful place...
